The Manual Break organises small creative experiences in Portugal. We are the data controller of the information you provide on www.themanualbreak.com and checkout.themanualbreak.com.

When you book or join The Manual Break, we collect:
- Personal details: name, email, phone number, country of residence and LinkedIn profile (optional).
- Tax ID (NIF or VAT number), optional, for invoicing.
- Payment details: processed securely by Stripe. We never see or store your card details. If you pay by card (including Apple Pay, Google Pay or a card saved with Link), Stripe securely stores your payment method to collect the scheduled balance payment.
- Optional details for logistics: dietary requirements and accessibility needs. We ask for these by email after you book, never at checkout.
3. Why We Collect It
We only use your data for:
- Managing bookings and event participation (guest lists, room allocation, communications).
- Processing payments, including the scheduled balance payment, and issuing invoices.
- Sending essential updates before, during and after the experience.
- Offering future event updates or community news (only with your consent).
- Meeting legal and tax obligations.
4. Legal Basis
- Performance of contract: to provide your booking and event participation.
- Legal obligation: accounting, invoicing, tax.
- Consent: if you subscribe to receive updates beyond the event, and for analytics cookies.
- Explicit consent: for dietary requirements, allergies or accessibility needs you choose to share. We use them only to prepare your stay.
5. How Long We Keep Your Data
- Guest data: kept for up to 12 months after the event (for follow-up and to manage credits or transfers).
- Dietary requirements and accessibility needs: deleted within 30 days after the event.
- Financial data: retained as required by Portuguese/EU law.
- Marketing data: kept until you unsubscribe or withdraw consent.
6. Who We Share It With
We never sell your data. We only share it with trusted service providers:
- Stripe (payments and scheduled balance payments).
- systeme.io (our website, email communications and contact management).
- Lovable (hosting of our booking site).
- Google Analytics (website statistics, only if you accept analytics cookies).
Some providers may process data outside the EEA, but only with adequate safeguards (e.g. Standard Contractual Clauses).
7. Your Rights
Under the GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access your data.
- Correct inaccurate data.
- Request deletion.
- Restrict or object to processing.
- Request a copy (data portability).
- Withdraw consent (where applicable).
